who sets up the event?

We do everything, all you need is to provide us the space and the people to PLAY!

do you have any special requirements?

Yes, access to load and unload is important. Our van is full to bursting point with loose-parts for our sessions. We must be able to access the playspace to drop/pack materials. 

how much space do you need?

We are happy to work with you beforehand and tailor our program to fit whatever space you have, from the size of a single room right through to an oval. We will assess the space and the number of people playing to ensure the right amount of loose-parts are available.

what kind of spaces do you run programs in?

Programs can be indoors or outdoors and we are happy to PLAY in all weather conditions (subject to safety procedures around lightning, high winds etc). We may adjust the type of loose-parts on offer based on conditions. 

The environment in which we PLAY is an extra part of the fun. Got trees or beams? Rocks or sand? Lights that create shadows? Walls or ground that can be drawn on with chalk etc. Water access? Let us know a little bit about your space when you book and we will bring materials that add to the fun.

do you travel?

Absolutely, we love bringing our loose-parts junkyard to everyone in need of PLAY. To make travel financially viable, we do have minimum booking requirements for us to travel and there are also travel fees associated. Please get in touch to discuss and get a quote. 

how many people can you have PLAYing?

This depends on the program. For incursions we suggest a maximum standard class size (30 kids) as kids will be there for a defined session and be entirely there to PLAY. 

For events and activations that are more a drop-in style of PLAY the number is unlimited as people come and go and there is usually a wider age range (meaning different styles of PLAY and demand on the materials). We will monitor the PLAYspace during each session.

what is the min/max age for kids?

We do find that 0-12 year olds are most suited to our programs. However, there is no minimum or maximum age for kids to PLAY. Everyone needs PLAY in their life!

We have run sessions for corporate team building with adults, have had teenagers stay for hours at festivals and everything in between.

what is your Cancellation Policy?

Birthday parties - require a 50% deposit at the time of booking and must be paid in full 7 days before the event.

Incursions and Activations - full payment is due within 7 days of the session.

Cancellation Policy - Bookings cancelled 4 weeks before the session date incur no fee. Cancellations 4 weeks or less will incur a 25% booking fee, 2 weeks or less will incur a 50% booking fee. There is no refund for cancellations within 7* days of the session date.

*Due to high demand of school holiday bookings there is no refund for school holiday sessions cancelled less than 2 weeks from the session date.

what about safety?

We can provide full Risk Assessments as well as Risk Benefit Analysis for all our programs. Our experienced staff have current Working With Children Checks, Child Protection Training and are First Aid Qualified. 

Junkyard Rascals also has Public Liability Insurance of $20million.
